Welcome, My name is Zahra. I am a Psychotherapeutic Counsellor (Accred (MNCs) Prof. Dip Psy C) working in private practice in Reading, Berkshire. I have experience working with Grief, depression and anxiety with underlying issues of anger, guilt and confidence with work-related stress.
Are you struggling with a significant life change like Grief or loss, feeling depressed, anxious or out of depth? You might wonder what it is all about, who you are and what you are doing. Counselling and therapy provide an opportunity to explore your issues in a safe space. They facilitate release, reduce pain, and deepen awareness of deeper problems.
I currently work with individuals (aged 18 to 80 years). I offer face-to-face sessions and also work online. Taking the first step to look for counselling can be daunting and confusing, mainly if this is not something you have done before. I hope to make the process a little easier for you. Most of us, at some stage, experience problems, difficulties or life events which we struggle to overcome on our own. I believe that asking for help when you are struggling shows strength and courage.
In counselling, I can offer you a safe and confidential environment to think and talk about issues causing you difficulty. Changing issues like separation, job loss, or Grief sometimes removes your confidence. Therefore counselling is unique because it is an opportunity to discuss things with someone impartial and non-judgmental who is not involved in your daily life.
Working with me gives you confidence and hope in making pathways to healing and coping with your losses. Everyone’s needs are different, and there is no “one size fits all” approach to counselling. Please get in touch so I can discuss your particular needs and how we could work together.
I work collaboratively and compassionately, in person-centred modalities, like talking therapies with other elements to make you understand how your experiences in the past have impacted your relationship with self and others in the present.
I am working with grief, anxiety and depression. I also support south Asian languages (Urdu, Punjabi, potohari and Hindi) face-to-face or online.
I will be open, professional and compassionate to you at every step of your journey. I try to help you grow from your struggles, heal from your pain, and move forward to where you want to be in your life. I will offer a confidential, non-judgemental space for you to explore feelings, behaviours, and thoughts.
